Good evening everybody. It's Dr G, spirit Tales and Magic, where we always say there is indeed a world unseen, a world that exists all around us all the time and every now and then we catch a glimpse of it and the dead get in. The dead get in. By the time you hear this, we will be headed for the airport. So just a quick update In about 23 hours from now we'll be flying and 48 hours from now we'll be clear across the country doing a theatrical seance and we'll keep you posted on all those sorts of things. And I wanted to say to our new listener, dale, we haven't forgot about you.
Speaker 1:I have another story I'm going to put up for you, but we had a lot of emails today about spirit tales and magic and we have a couple of listeners that have been with us from more than a couple actually that have been with us from day one. Where's the magic part? Don't you think it's time to do something magic over the podcast? Well, you could be right. So do not attempt to do this while you're driving, or even think about it while you're driving. If you're driving, wait till you get home, go back to the podcast and then do this. We did also have an email right after that. That said, I don't believe in any of this crap and if you're going to do anything over the air, you must be doing it with a stooge. I'll remind you, this is not radio. I do some radio occasionally, radio, I do some radio occasionally and we do examples of illusions over the radio and I can't actually do one on the radio that works out for you at home. And, trust me, it's not a stooge.
Speaker 1:But having said all that, stand by a large clock where you can see it, where you can see all the numbers on the clock. Or, better yet, draw a circle on a piece of paper and fill in the 12 numbers of a clock, just like it looks hanging on your wall. Think of any number 1 through 12, which appears on the face of that clock. Now I'd like you to remember that number. That'll be important for later. So you're going to stick your finger now, at 12 noon or 12 midnight, whichever you prefer, if you're a day person or a night person, put your finger on the 12. Now we're going to make three consecutive moves to arrive at a random number. First, you should spell the number that you originally thought of, the one I ask you to remember 1 through 12, making one move clockwise. Clockwise is the same way the clock moves Around for each letter. In other words, if you picked or if you thought of number 1, you would spell O-N-E, moving your finger to the 1, 2, and 3. Do that now, please, spelling the particular number that you thought of, that we asked you to remember. What you will find is that your finger is now on a new number. So let's go ahead and spell that, continuing to move around in a circle, make your first move on the first letter and continue to spell the new number that you were on. And of course, you know that the result is you're now sitting on another number. So one last time I want you to spell that number continuing around the circle. So here we are. You've made a random choice and you've moved twice from there, so I couldn't possibly know where you are. And I hope that if the last person who said this kind of stuff doesn't work is listening, if this stuff doesn't work, how do I know that you have your finger on one o'clock, on one o'clock. So that's a little bit of magic and a little bit of what's coming next We'll do one more.
Speaker 1:This is one more radio trick. Get a handful, and you may have to put some preparation in this. You get a handful of pennies and a handful of dimes. Any number can be used, but at least four or five of each. Now, if you don't have those, it'll take a minute. But cut little squares of paper and put one cent whatever you're going to put on there. But it works better if you have the change. So wait until you have the change and come back and do this.
Speaker 1:Pick up any number of dimes and pennies in your hand. Well, first let's back up. You have pennies and dimes laying on the table and have one quarter. Let's say that sounds like a plan. So we've got some pennies, we have some dimes and we have a quarter. And, like I said, if you don't have that, you can do little pieces of paper with the values written on it. But it's more fun, I think, when you actually have the coins. So if you don't have them, just go ahead and wait until you have them and then come back.
Speaker 1:So you have a quantity of pennies and you have a quantity of dimes and you have one quarter. Don't have any nickels, so this further complicates things. So we have pennies, dimes and one solitary quarter. Put all the coins on the table, pick up the quarter and put it in your hand. Now pick up any six coins, pennies and dimes, in any combination that you would like. You can take six dimes, you could take six pennies or any combination of those.
Speaker 1:Now let's check. You should have seven coins in your hand, one quarter and the rest in pennies and dimes. Now total the coins in your hand to see how much money you've got. Of course, I can't know that total, since I don't know what combination of coins that you picked up. Now total the digits in your number. For example, if you were holding 83 cents in your hand, you'd total 8 and 3 to get 11. Then you would add 1 and 1 to get 2. So total the digits until you have only one number, which, by the way, is the number 4. Which, by the way, is the number four. So a little radio magic. We'll be out and about quite a bit. We'll talk very soon. It's going to be a busy few days. I hope that, as we're moving toward Halloween, you know what you're going to be a busy few days. I hope that, as we're moving toward Halloween, you know what you're going to be up to. And hey, tell a ghost story. It's good for you. Good night from the Arizona border.
