SPIRIT TALES AND MAGIC
Discovering Hidden Gems: From Rock Hounding to Magical Seances in Bisbee
Something magical happened on our return trip to Bisbee, Arizona. While dodging motorcycles during the town's annual "prowl" event and enjoying Cassandra's rock hounding expedition, we stumbled upon a treasure that left even seasoned professionals like us genuinely awestruck.
The Bisbee Seance Room, operated by Kenny Bang Bang (aptly self-titled "Master of the Macabre Magic"), proved to be an extraordinary find. As practitioners with over five decades of combined experience in the metaphysical realm, we don't impress easily. Yet from the moment we stepped into Kenny's theater, transformed to feel like a welcoming parlor from another era, we knew this was special. The performance masterfully weaves together magic, historical storytelling, and atmospheric immersion that captivates from beginning to end. What's particularly remarkable is how the show delivers an experience worth several times its modest ticket price.
For those planning a visit to this charming Arizona mining town, consider this our highest recommendation: whatever else you do in Bisbee, make time for the Seance Room. It stands as a testament to the hidden wonders still waiting to be discovered in places you might least expect them. Meanwhile, as Halloween approaches, we find ourselves unusually without firm plans for the first time in years. After conducting a seance in Salem last Halloween, we're contemplating a quieter celebration this year—though with us, plans can change in an instant. We'd love to hear about your Halloween traditions or ghost stories—perhaps we'll share them on a future episode. Remember, you can submit your supernatural experiences through our website or directly to ninpaws@yahoo.com for possible on-air reading or interview. After all, telling ghost stories isn't just entertaining—it's good for the soul.
Good afternoon everybody. It's Dr G Spirit Tales and Magic. Cassandra and I, as always, are out and about and causing what little bit of mayhem that we can. I wanted to zoom in pretty quick. This is not a ghost story, but you do know. From time to time I update you on our travels and some of the things that we've seen that I thought were cool that you should see. The last episode was Bisbee, and we talked about the Copper Queen.
Speaker 1:We went back to Bisbee last weekend, a couple of days ago, and we went. As you know, cassandra is a rock hound. She makes Cassandra collectibles very wonderful jewelry out of minerals and rocks. There was a rock hounding tour, so we wanted to see that it's new. We went on it and it was fantastic. You should do that.
Speaker 1:We happened to ride into Bisbee on the weekend of the prowl and I didn't know what that was, but on the prowl many, many hundreds of motorcycles come into Bisbee. It's a one-day-a-year event. We didn't do our due diligence, so we're right in the middle of. That Makes parking very difficult. Still pretty cool though. So we went on the rock counting thing, which you should do, that if you go and then we went to eat and we thought we'd sneak down the tombstone for a couple hours and then go home. It's roughly three and a half hours for us to one way, but then we discovered the Bisbee seance room. Now if you go to the website for Bisbee seance, if you go to TripAdvisor or anybody like that, you get the little things on the right-hand side that says website and you can click it and go to their website. So Master of the Macabre Magic, kenny Bang Bang, voted one of the top five must-see attractions in all of Arizona. Five stars on Yelp. Contact or call 520-203-3350 at the Bisbee Seance Room.
Speaker 1:Now, keep in mind, cassandra and I are in that business. We've been in it as a couple for about 21 years. I've been in it since I was eight, so I have about 53 years in that business. We do not impress easy, but we do like to go every now and then to shows and see them. We go in with absolutely no expectations of any kind or no agenda. We just want to go in and see the show. So I don't want to spoil anything for you, but keep in mind I am not associated with that in any way, shape or form and the owner of it did not ask me to say anything. As a matter of fact, I just asked him if it was okay if I did, and he said yes, from the moment that you walk into his theater, you're going to feel very comfortable. It's like you're visiting an old friend's parlor for a show.
Speaker 1:The show is wonderful. You're going to get magic and a history lesson. The execution is outstanding. I just can't say enough good about it. So let me say this If you go to Bisbee whatever else you're doing in Bisbee get yourself a ticket for the Bisbee seance room show. You will not be disappointed. And I'd like to say, kenny, thanks for a wonderful evening and we'll be back up there soon to see you again. The price is very reasonable. You guys and I will say this too If the price were three or four times what it is, the show would still be a must see. So really, I just um, given our level of what we do, we don't impress easy and we were impressed. So please, one more time and I'll quit. But if you're in Bisbee at all, for any reason, go see Kenny's show. I can't think of one single reason why you won't absolutely love it.
Speaker 1:So Cassandra and I will be back in the studio, I believe this coming weekend, at least for a moment. We have a couple things going on. What are you guys doing for Halloween? I'd love to know. This is the first Halloween where we don't have a plan already. It'll happen in a week or two. But send us an email and let us know what's your Halloween going to be like. Where are you going to be?
Speaker 1:We were in Salem last year with a seance. I don't think we're working this Halloween. We may be that plan might change, but I think we're just going to take Halloween off and kind of do whatever, but maybe not you never know with us. That's the thing. We're going to be out and about a lot and you know that I always say until I see you out there, I'll see you inside your mind. But I also want to remind you that you can send us your ghost story on the website or you can send it directly to NinPaws N-I-N-P-A-W-S at yahoocom. We can read your story on the air or we can zoom in and interview you, talk to you about your story. You can dedicate it to someone, you can put it in your own name or you can be anonymous. And hey, get out there and tell a ghost story. It's good for you, dr G, from Phoenix. We'll talk soon, my friends.
